A small window into the ancient seas.
Two mosasaur fossil teeth, displayed together in a black floating frame on a stand. Their contrasting honey-brown and pale mineral tones, fine surface lines and individual shapes make an evocative addition to a shelf, desk or fossil collection.
Mosasaurs were ocean-going reptiles related to the lizard and snake lineage. They lived during the Late Cretaceous and disappeared in the mass extinction around 66 million years ago. Paddle-shaped limbs and powerful tails helped them move through the seas.
The darker, broader tooth has a visibly blunt, truncated tip; the lighter tooth has a more pointed profile. Both show irregular bases, attached sediment and surface lines, with chips visible in the photographs. The cause and timing of the tip loss are unknown. Preparation and restoration history have not been verified. Please refer to the original close-up photographs when assessing condition.
The styled display photograph uses an AI-edited background only, the photos are originals. The mosasaur artwork is an interpretive reconstruction, not a species identification or a photograph of the animal represented by these teeth. The artwork is shown for illustration; a printed copy is not included.
