Birthstone Jewellery

A birthstone can make a piece of jewellery deeply personal—a quiet connection to a month, a milestone or someone important.

Deep Time Atelier keeps a broad selection of birthstone materials that may be incorporated into selected handmade rings, necklaces and pendants. Because every material behaves differently, the possibilities depend on the stone, the design and what is currently available in the atelier.

Garnet

A deep red stone traditionally associated with constancy and protection.

February

Amethyst

Violet quartz, valued for its rich colour and crystalline structure.

Aquamarine

A pale blue variety of beryl, named for the colour of the sea.

April

Diamond

Celebrated for exceptional hardness, clarity and light.

Emerald

Green beryl whose natural inclusions give each stone its own character.

June

Moonstone

Known for a soft floating glow called adularescence. Pearl and alexandrite are also associated with June.

Ruby

Red corundum, prized for vivid colour and enduring strength.

Peridot

A luminous green gem formed deep within the Earth.

Sapphire

Best known in blue, though sapphire naturally occurs in many colours.

Opal

A remarkable gem whose play-of-colour can shift with light and movement. Tourmaline is also associated with October.

November

Citrine

Golden quartz with tones ranging from pale honey to warm amber. Topaz is also associated with November.

December

Turquoise

An ancient blue-green gem, often marked by a distinctive natural matrix. Tanzanite and zircon are also associated with December.
