A substantial display specimen presented as dendritic opalite (dendritic common opal) in matrix. The broad pale blue-white opal-like zones are patterned with striking dark, fern-like dendritic inclusions and framed by rusty brown and orange host material.
Across the specimen, the contrasting layers reveal cloudy translucency, natural seams, fractures, weathered crust and varied textures. It makes an unusual geological display piece with a strong natural-history character.
Naming note: “Dendritic opalite” is used here as a trade description for this opal-like, dendrite-bearing material. “Opalite” is an inconsistent market term and can also refer to imitation opal glass. The exact mineral composition, locality and treatment status of this specimen have not been laboratory verified, so this listing does not claim gem-grade opal.
The exact specimen shown is the one supplied. It is presented in found condition; uneven edges, fractures, matrix, surface deposits and natural variations are part of its character. Handle with care.
