A striking natural rough fuchsite mica schist display specimen. Parallel mica-rich layers create a distinctive sculptural form, with pale grey matrix threaded by reflective green fuchsite and warm brown mineral weathering.
The green material is visually consistent with fuchsite, the chromium-bearing green variety of muscovite mica. Here it occurs as green mica within a strongly foliated metamorphic rock. Exact mineral chemistry and locality have not been laboratory verified. This is the exact one-of-a-kind natural specimen pictured.
Natural fractures, uneven edges, layered cleavage and variations in surface texture are part of the specimen's character. Handle with care; mica-rich material can shed small flakes and should be kept dry and away from harsh chemicals.
