Deep Time Atelier – Signature Ring

This piece is part of the Aerial Strata series, inspired by aerial views of mineral rich salt lakes where natural pools of colour form across ancient landscapes.

Ruby Basin features striking ruby red Bello opal arranged in organic circular forms across the band. The pattern mirrors the shapes seen when salt lakes are photographed from above, where minerals create vivid pools of colour across the land.

To add depth and subtle sparkle, this ring also contains fine diamond dust and genuine meteorite dust dispersed through the inlay. These materials catch the light like minerals scattered across ancient terrain.

At the base of the inlay sits a layer of ruby red strontium aluminate, which charges naturally from daylight or quickly with a UV light and produces a soft luminous afterglow in low light.

The glow effect is intentionally subtle. Long exposure photos exaggerate the brightness so the effect can be seen clearly in photographs, while in person it appears as a gentle glow beneath the surface.
