This polished dinosaur gem bone slab will be available for purchase after it arrives and has been inspected by Deep Time Atelier. Stock is currently set to zero, so it may be viewed but cannot yet be purchased.

Dinosaur gem bone forms when mineral-rich groundwater penetrates fossilised bone and silica-based minerals preserve or fill the original cellular structure. When cut and polished, the internal bone cells can appear as an intricate mosaic unlike any conventional gemstone.

This specimen displays richly coloured red, rust, violet and translucent grey cell patterns across its broad polished faces. The two sides reveal different concentrations of preserved structure, giving the slab strong visual interest as both a natural-history specimen and lapidary material.

The supplier photographed the piece both wet and dry outdoors. Colour, contrast and surface gloss may therefore vary with moisture and lighting. New photographs will be added after the specimen arrives.

The dinosaur species, precise geological formation and collection locality have not been documented, so no more specific identification is claimed.
